Refreshen

Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2026

By creating an account or using Refreshen (refreshen.io, the "Service"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service. We'll keep this short and direct.

1. The Service

Refreshen scans blogs you nominate for stale content (year drift, broken links, missing internal links, optionally fact claims) and emails you a digest. It is a reporting tool, not an editor — we never modify your blog.

2. Eligibility & ownership

You may only add a domain to Refreshen if you own it or are authorised to monitor it on behalf of the owner. Submitting a domain you do not control is a violation of these terms and grounds for immediate suspension. If you suspect someone is scanning a domain they don't own, report it via /report-scanning.

3. Acceptable use

  • Don't use the Service to scan domains you don't own.
  • Don't attempt to bypass tier limits, rate limits, or billing (e.g. by repeatedly creating Free accounts to evade quotas).
  • Don't reverse-engineer the Service to extract or reconstruct data from other tenants.
  • Don't use the Service to harass other site owners (e.g. by submitting bogus "abuse" reports).

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

4. Billing

Paid plans are billed via Polar on a monthly recurring basis, starting on the day you upgrade. You can change plans or cancel at any time from Billing; cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer pro-rata refunds for partial months.

If a payment fails, we'll attempt to recharge a few times via Polar, then downgrade your account to Free until payment is resolved.

5. Beta features

From time to time we ship features marked "Beta" in the UI or in your monthly digest. Beta features may be unreliable, have lower precision than shipped features, or be removed without notice. We're collecting feedback during each beta to decide whether to promote the feature or sunset it.

6. Your data

See the Privacy Policy for what we collect and how we use it. You retain ownership of your blog content. We process it solely to provide the Service to you.

7. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Danger zone. We may terminate or suspend an account that violates these terms, fails to pay, or remains inactive for 12+ months on a paid tier. On termination, the data-deletion saga runs as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is". We don't guarantee that scans are exhaustive, that issues are correctly identified, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. You're responsible for reviewing the issues we surface and deciding what to act on. Fact-checking is particularly imperfect during Beta.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Refreshen's liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

10. Changes to these terms

If we make material changes, we'll email account holders and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
